Kootenay Blues Society is showcasing another fine act as Country Pete McGill and Alabama Mike with the Riverside Blues Band comes to the Southern Interior in September.
There are three dates to catch Country Pete McGill and Alabama Mike with the Riverside Blues Band around Nelson — Thursday, September 6 at the Slocan Trading Company at 7 p.m. (for info call 250-355-2299); Friday, September 7 at Balfour Beach Inn at 5 p.m. and Finley’s in Nelson on Saturday, September 8 at 8 p.m.
Country Pete McGill, originally from Texas and now living in California, is a first-rate entertainer, singer, guitarist, songwriter and bass player, who can lay down a blues shuffle like no other and is one of the most sought-after bass players in the Bay area. Alabama Mike, from Talladega, Alabama is a top-notch vocalist, front man and harmonica player.
Blessed withachurch house tenor, he delivers a vocal sound that will remind you of a young BB King or Buddy Guy. Together, these two real deal award winning blues men put on an engaging and entertaining show.
