The Friends of Kootenay Lake Steward Society is once again joining with Kootenay Co-op Radio to host the annual Polar Bear Swim Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Lakeside Park in Nelson.

Braves swimmers, who will be collecting pledges to raise funds for Friends of Kootenay Lake, Kootenay Coop Radio and Fridays for the Future, take to the chilly waters of Kootenay Lake at High Noon.

DJs will on site starting the party at 11 a.m.

Organizers invite the public  to collect pledges from family, friends and others who want to see you ring in the new year by taking a cold dip in the lake.

All the donations collected will go directly to KCR and FOKLSS and contribute to our fundraising efforts that support the important community work we do.

If the warm fuzzy feeling of helping out local non-profits isn’t enough to warm you up, there will be hot chocolate, coffee and chili on the beach by donation.

Organizers are asking participants to contact FOKLSS to arrange the pick-up of pledge forms at the Kootenay Co-op Radio station at 308 A Hall St, Nelson, BC. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
