It’s free for families to swim Saturday at the NDCC Pool.

Members of the public are invited to Nelson’s biggest pool party on Saturday, September 7th as the RDCK celebrates “Free Family Day” at the Nelson Aquatic Centre.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay is rolling out the red carpet as a sign of appreciation for having to close the faclitiy for renovations earlier this year.

“This is a way to celebrate the Nelson Aquatic Centre and to express our appreciation to the public for their patience and understanding during the facility’s closure,” said Joe Chirico, general manager of community services for the RDCK.

Families can use the pool for free from 1—4 p.m. on September 7th. Healthy snacks will also be provided.

“We encourage everyone to come down and join in the fun,” said Chirico.
