Looking for something distinctive and unique for the special people in your life? Don’t miss out on the EcoSociety Winter Craft Fair! Bring your family and friends and come support your local community.

West Kootenay EcoSociety is once again hosting its annual Winter Craft Fair. This year’s fair takes place on December 14th at the Central School Gym, 811 Stanley Street in Nelson, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All of the products are handmade locally and the venue is accessible.

“There’s something special about buying a locally made product from a craft fair of local artisans,” says Craig Mullin, EcoSociety markets coordinator. “Not only is it going to be unique, you’re also directly supporting our community’s economy by buying straight from the producer.”

Customers will spot some of their favourite vendors from Nelson’s Downtown and Cottonwood markets and MarketFest, and there are also new participants at the craft fair. Just like at the summer markets, there will be a wide variety of high-quality and one-of-a-kind items for sale including body care products, clothes, stained glass, custom leather, photography, pottery, baked goods and much, much more.

“We are so grateful for the artistic talent and creativity in our community, and this is an excellent way to support our local artisans. This is our last market of the year, so come join us in celebrating the holidays!” Mullin says.

A $2 to $5 donation is being requested at the door to help EcoSociety cover the costs of this market.

West Kootenay EcoSociety is a non-profit community-driven organization that works to bring together local residents to protect the natural environment while building just, equitable, healthy, and livable communities in the West Kootenay region.
