On Saturday, February 23rd, The Vallican Whole Community Centre will be hosting the lower Slocan Valley’s mid-winter boogie, when the Lazy Poker Blues Band comes to play. Doors open at 7:30 with the tunes starting to ignite the place at 8:00 p.m.

Fronted by the powerful voice of Aryn Sheriff, featuring  the hot licks of local blues legend Bill Lynch and with the mind crunching sax of Clint Swanson thrown into the mix, the stage will be set for a great evening of music.

As the band says, “the Blues is more than music, it’s more than attitude ….it’s like an itch you can’t quite reach”. The Vallican Whole is hoping everyone comes out to attempt to get that itch scratched.

Bill Lynch’s recent solo album “Would You Speak on My Behalf” re-ignited the interest in the Lazy Poker Blues Band, who have been playing to full houses around the region. They’ll be bringing that strong musical mix to the Vallican Whole for folks to get their feet moving too.

Tickets for the event are $15 advance, $20 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased at Gaia Tree Whole Foods, Evergreen Natural Foods in Crescent Valley, Otter Books in Nelson and at the door.

The Vallican Whole can be found in the Slocan Valley, heading up (or down) highway 6 and following the signs when you turn off at Passmore.
