Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation is set to hoist sails on its 11th annual Legacy Golf Tournament Sunday at the Granite Pointe at Nelson course.

The tournament is an annual fundraiser for the local foundation.

Golfing begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Following the time on the links, participants will enjoy dinner before getting ready for the golf drop.

Nine hundred and ninty-nine balls will be dropped from the ladder of a Nelson Fire Department truck on hole nine in front of the Granite Pointe clubhouse.

The first ball that goes into the hold, or is closest to the pin, wins the prize.

Tickets are $10 each.

Golfers also have a chance to win a Island weekend getaway for two at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort in Sooke, B.C.

Winners fly via Pacific Coast Airlines and receive a two-night stay along with dinner and spa. The kicker in this package is the $1,000 in spending money.

The Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation is governed by a group of dedicated volunteers whose purpose is to raise funds for the medical needs of our community hospital.

The Board of Directors consists of 13 directors who each serve a 3-year term.

The Foundation Board is a working Board elected by its members. Directors and members serve on various committees such as the Events Committee, Golf Committee, Community Relations Committee, or the Finance Committee.

All directors and members contribute their time and effort without any payment or benefit other than the satisfaction of contributing to the community.

There remains room in the tournament for late entrants.

For more information on the tournament visit the Foundation website at www.http://klhf.org or call 250-354-2334 or Granite Pointe pro shop 250-352-5913.
