Fall is typically the time of year when gardeners gather together to swap garden successes and compare tomato crops. But this year, like everything else, all things garden are different including the SEEDS Nelson AGM. This year, it will be a virtual event where you can vote on amendments and board member nominations.

And with the rain (and eventually snow) also comes SEEDS Nelson 6th annual fundraising 2021 calendar. This year the theme is Nelson: Places and Pursuits. For most of us, 2020 has given us lots of time spent alone on the lake or hiking mountains and wandering on the trails and the Calendar art and images have been chosen to highlight this.

SEEDS Nelson wants to thank the artists and photographers that have supported this project. We have limited opportunities to be out in the community at booths selling the 2021 calendars. But the calendars will be available at Touchstones Nelson Museum of Art and History, The Visitor’s Centre, Otter Books, Ellison’s Market, Kootenay Co-op Country Store, and Nelson Farmer’s Supply. They will also be available online at www.seedsnelson.org. We will mail them out to folks far and wide who want to support the work of SEEDS Nelson. The calendars will be in these shops and available online by Oct 25th.

The SEEDS Nelson Seventh Street Greenhouse project is moving along, although slower than the Board would like but forward is still forward. The Board looks forward to cutting a ribbon and inviting the public into our new community hub and to starting up our intergenerational gardening programs again. COVID protocols in place, of-course.

If you have the SEEDS Nelson 2020 calendar, you will see that the AGM was planned for Wednesday, Oct 21st, but because of the provincial election, it will be pushed until the next week. So, the AGM will be Wednesday, Oct 28th at 5pm.

If you are a SEEDS Nelson member in good standing, you will be sent a Zoom link to join the AGM meeting. If you need to update your membership please do so by heading to www.seedsnelson.org. If you are interested in joining the SEEDS Nelson board of directors please reach out to seedsnelsonbc@gmail.com.
