BLUES SUPER GROUP COMES TO NELSON

The Kootenay Blues Society, after a very successful first year, kicks off their second season with the Blues Supergroup: MARK HUMMEL and his GOLDEN STATE - LONE STAR BLUES REVUE at Finley's in Nelson on Wednesday, May 29th.     

Featuring Grammy-nominated Harp Blower/Vocalist/ Bandleader Mark Hummel ; Guitar legend Anson Funderburgh (Delbert McClinton, Boz Scaggs, Snooks Eaglin, Earl King and Jimmy Buffet); Guitarist Mike Keller  (Fabulous Thunderbirds, Marcia Ball, The Keller Brothers) ; Drummer Wes Starr and Bassist R.W. Grigsby (Omar & the Howlers, Jimmy Vaughan, Asleep At The Wheel, Kim Wilson, Earl King, James Cotton; this is an All Star cross country melding of California musicians Hummel and Grigsby with Texans Funderburgh, Keller and Starr. This is probably the best blues band touring North America right now and we are very lucky to have them come to the Kootenay's. “A California/Texas super band....Tasty yet nasty.. smooth yet rough, suave boogie woogie for every kind of bootie”. 

Tickets are $20. and are available at Finley's, Otter Books or any KBS board member. Judy Brown will open and the show starts at 7 p.m.
