The Capitol Theatre is offering another batch of fun and creative theatre classes for kids 8-12 years old.

Footlights Academy, Segment II is a series of six sessions, over a three-week period in June — June 10/11, 17/18 & 24/25. All sessions run from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Led by professional actor and instructor Avi Phillips, young actors will discover and develop worlds, real and imagined, tell stories through movement and creative drama. They will learn to trust and support each other’s ideas as they move into the world of focused theatre-making, developing improvisation skills, and establishing stage presence.

The program will take place on the Capitol Theatre stage and will culminate in a final showcase where actors share their new skills with each other.

The Academy has space for 10 participants, and it is currently half full! If you have a creative burgeoning young performer in your midst, don’t delay in signing them up for this wonderful opportunity with Avi Phillips.

Registration for FOOTLIGHTS II is $75. Parents can sign up through the website, or over in-person/by phone at the Capitol Theatre Box Office Tuesday-Friday, noon-4:30 p.m. (250)352-6363. Online registrations will be contacted by email.
