2015 Winter Storm

It's taken a few days for businesses to dig out from the first winter story of 2015.
Some are taking longer than others.
Some seem to have given up.
Snow piles have grown like weeds throughout the city.
Public works crews are clearing the downtown streets of those mounds of snow.
Streets, including the 800 block of Vernon, are a lot narrower than before the storm.
The storm forced highway crews to close the Kootenay Pass due to avalanche control.
Now that the warmer weather is upon us, City of Nelson public works staff are busy clearing drains to prevent flooding.
Of course, if you didn't need to shovel, the winter wonderland was nice to look at. — Submitted photo
