Halloween came and went in Nelson with plenty of events to keep trick or treaters happy.

A few families in Nelson took the Halloween spirit to new levels.
The McLellan Clan on 500 Observatory Street was back after a year hiatus, hosting a haunted house with hundreds of people arriving on the door step.

To The Editor:

I had the privilege of growing up in The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program which was started by war amputee veterans. Through Operation Legacy, which is made up of members of CHAMP, we pay tribute to the veterans who founded the Association and all those who have served our country.

Slocan Lake RCMP is seeking the public's help to identify the person(s) who assisted an injured man by taking him to the New Denver Hospital on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at approximately 8 p.m.

Police said in a media release the injured man is believed to be approximately 25 years old and was picked up between Rosebery and New Denver.

For the ninth consecutive season the L.V. Rogers Bombers will compete in the BC High School AA Girl’s Field Hockey Championships at Lambrick Park in Victoria.

The Bombers blasted Princess Margaret of Penticton 5-1 in the Kootenay/Okanagan qualifying round game to advance to the provincial tournament.

Kevin Timothy of Chemainus, has been charged with animal cruelty following a BC SPCA investigation.

In early May, 2019, the BC SPCA took custody of a one-year-old female German shepherd in critical condition. The dog, named Hope, was suffering from emaciation, dehydration, extreme muscle wasting and a deep, severe neck wound.
