Happy New Year from Staff at The Nelson Daily

December 28th, 2023

As 2023 comes to a conclusion, The Nelson Daily staff would like to wish the next 365 days be filled with love, laughter, and good times.

The past year has seen its ups and downs.

Wildfires races across the province, most notably as witnessed in West Kelowna and Northern BC; the Bank of Canada raised interest rates that affected most people’s wallet; a lack of human resources led to numerous temporary closures of emergency rooms in the region struggled to staff facilities; homelessness continues to be a concern; the toxic drug crisis continues to drain B.C. Emergency Health Services, including First Responders in the region; and now the lack of precipitation — in the form of snow — at the end of the year is affecting the local winter tourism industry as well raising concerns on water issues in 2024.

With all of those issues The Nelson Daily can only hope that 2024 offers a fresh start and a year full of exciting possibilities to our devoted readers and advertisers.

Happy New Year!!!
