Salmo RCMP seek witnesses in serious assault

Salmo RCMP is asking for assistance from the public regarding a serious assault that occurred last fall near Ymir.
RCMP said that on October 11, 2022, officers responded to an assault that happened on the rails to trails path off of Highway 6 near Ymir.
Police said that an adult male was beaten by an unknown male suspect at the location and was subsequently transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
RCMP said the matter is still under investigation and police are reaching out to the public hoping someone will come forward who either witnessed this assault or knows who the suspect may be.
