Even a little rain could not dampen the spirits of Grad in the 2023 L.V. Rogers Cavalcade.

Saturday, spring showers only brought out umbrellas as the Graduating Class at L.V. Rogers High School were showcased in the annual Cavalcade through the streets and downtown of Nelson.

Grad collected their respective transportation at the Selkirk College Tenth Street campus parking lot Saturday afternoon before traveling along Douglas Road with the assistance of Nelson Police Department and Nelson Fire and Rescue Services and into the downtown core along Baker Street where they were greeted by lines of spectators.

Following the parade, the Grads jumped out of their vehicles to stage a walk down Baker Street led by a marching drum band.

Once the walk was completed, Grads gathered later for photos at Lakeside park, banquet and dance.

Kootenay Lake School District Graduation Schedule:

  • Salmo Secondary — Saturday, June 10 at 1 p.m., Salmo Secondary
  • Kootenay River Secondary — Friday, June 16 at 7 p.m., Creston & District Community Complex

  • Crawford Bay Secondary — Saturday, June 24 at 4 p.m. CBESS Gym
  • J.V. Humphries Secondary — Saturday, June 24 at 4 p.m., Lighthouse Theatre at J.V. Humphries

Even a little rain was not going to put a damper on Grads during the 2023 L.V. Rogers Cavalcade as vehicles cruised along Douglas Road in Nelson.

Streets were wet but smiles filled the vehicles in the 2023 LVR Cavalcade.

Happiness is a Cavalcade in the rain.

Congrats and see you all in 2024!!!
