The British Columbia Hockey Conference announced today the coaches and staff that will be a part of the first annual BCHC Prospects Game on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Sardis Sports Complex in Chilliwack, BC.

The KIJHL’s Top Prospects team will be led by head coach Dave Hnatiuk, whose Grand Forks Border Bruins currently lead the Neil Murdoch Division with a 9-4-1 record.

Hnatiuk is in his second year as the Head Coach & General Manager in Grand Forks, where he has transformed the Border Bruins into an immediate contender.

Princeton Posse head coach Mark Readman and Fernie Ghostriders head coach Ty Valin will serve as assistant coaches under Hnatiuk, while Nelson Leafs general manager Lance Morey has been named the team’s Operations Manager and Fernie Ghostriders trainer Nicholle Auger has been named the Athletic Trainer & Equipment Manager.

“I’m very excited to be leading the KIJHL Top Prospects team at this event and working with a tremendous staff in Mark, Ty, Lance and Nicholle,” says Hnatiuk. “We’re looking forward to getting our team roster set and beginning preparations in order to be our best in Chilliwack later this month.”

Meanwhile, the PJHL Top Prospects team staff includes head coach Brad Bakken (Langley Trappers), assistant coaches Cameron Miller (Chilliwack Jets) and Gary Mahesh (Langley Trappers), operations manager Derek Bedard (Ridge Meadows Flames) and athletic trainer Krista-Lee Walchuk (Abbotsford Pilots). Bakken is the head coach of the defending Cyclone Taylor Cup champions, as the Trappers captured the provincial championship in Delta this spring.

Team rosters for the inaugural BCHC Prospects Game will be announced on Monday, November 7th.
