Nelson Road Kings annual car event, the 2022 Queen City Cruise, is back on the agenda for car enthusiasts this Friday, September 9th and Saturday, September 10th.

Following a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic Nelson Road Kings president, Marcello Piro, says organizers expects a big turnout for the event.

“We anticipate ten thousand people on Baker Street those days. We hope to see about four hundred cars this year, everything from motorcycles, to trucks, to cars to big rigs.”

New this year, the Nelson Road Kings are proud to support the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation with an engine raffle. All proceeds go towards purchasing an Electrocardiogram (ECG) machine for Kootenay Lake Hospital.

The event is open to the entire community.

“It’s an open show and free for anybody who wants to come to look at the cars, and some very nice high-end cars are coming, says Piro.

Sadly, the car show was closed for the first two years of COVID-19, says Piro.

“We were supposed to have the show last year, but we put it on hold because COVID-19 was starting to rise. We thought it was best to look out for our community. But now, everything is going strong.”
