CFUW hosts Stories Inspire Passion fundraiser

Anyone who has ever wondered what inspires a person to write a book, embark on fascinating research, or what it is like to compete in a World Championship, will want to attend the SIP Talk: Stories Inspire Passion on Saturday, Sept 24th hosted by the Canadian Federation of University Women Nelson & District (CFUW).

This year’s dynamic line-up is Patricia Henman, Zaynab Mohammed, Lori Anne Donald, Luanne Armstrong, Jane Byers, Sydney Black, Avery DeBoer Smith

This fundraising event supports the local scholarship fund of Nelson & District Canadian Federation of University Women.Over the past ten years, this local organization has contributed over $30,000 to over 20 individuals to continue on their educational path.

These awards are handed out based primarily on financial need. The CFUW Nelson & District works diligently to support young women with their educational goals through fundraising events such as the SIP Talk event.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th, 4-7 p.m. at the Prestige Lakeside, doors will open at 3:30 p.m.

Tickets are $65.00, which includes a beverage, appetizers, and of course, inspirational stories. To purchase contact a club member or go online at http://siptalks.eventbrite.ca/and tickets will also be sold at Otter Books commencing Sept. 1st.
