BC Greens MLA talks climate, affordability solutions during visit to Nelson
B.C. Green MLA Adam Olsen will be touring the West Kootenays from July 14-17 to meet with key healthcare professionals and advocates in the area.
The MLA for Saanich North and the Islands will also meet with stakeholders to talk about climate and affordability solutions.
Olsen’s visit to the region is one leg of the B.C. Green Party Provincial Healthcare Tour to address the continued deterioration of our public healthcare system.
The Greens of BC said that nearly one million British Columbia residents go without a family doctor, meanwhile walk-in clinics and hospital emergency rooms are facing skyrocketing wait times and chronic staffing shortages.
Olsen’s itinerary includes:
Friday, July 15 — Lakeside Panel Discussion at Lakeside Park Pavilion from 7-9 p.m.
Saturday, July 16 — Community Bike Tour from Lakeside Rotary Shelter to Cottonwood Falls Park starting at 11 a.m.
Saturday, July 16 — Meet and Greet with Adam Olsen at Cottonwood Farmers Market — 12-2 p.m.
Sunday, July 17 — Community Lunch at 3260 Heddle Road on the North Shore from 12-3 p.m.
