No two weeks are the same for international award-winning Nelson filmmaker Jeremy Grant.

Lately, you might find him doing a mountain bike feature-length film one week in Spain and then flying to Toronto to do a Canadian Tire commercial. Currently, his filmmaking work is about 70 per cent adventure, 20 per cent commercial, and 10 per cent scripted (a fictional narrative film with actors).

His specialty is adventure films shot documentary-style that highlight community, people and uplifting stories. One of his favourites to shoot is mountain bike film work and currently, he’s working on an all-encompassing bike film.

The most significant part of his work is adventure travel. He has travelled to the North Pole, Zambia, and Ecuador, to name a few unique locations. He finds it extremely important to: “Do my homework and respect each location.”

Grant, born and raised in Nelson, is proud of his roots.

“I’m particularly proud of being a product of Nelson. Nelson is a small town and not associated with film, but there are so many gifted filmmakers within Nelson. I have been lucky to work with this incredible list of established local filmmaking talent.”
