Mallard's Team of the Week — L.V. Rogers Bombers Soccer

The L.V. Roger Bombers book its ticket to the BC High School AA Boy’s Soccer Championships next month in Burnaby by stopping Stanley Humphries of Castlegar and David Thompson of Invermere Friday during the zone playoffs at the Lakeside Pitch.
The Bombers edged a defensive-minded Stanley Humphries squad 2-1 before posting a 5-0 shutout of David Thompson.
Moss Caney scored twice to power the Bombers past Castlegar.
The visitors opened the scoring on a penalty before Caney scored a short time later to even the game.
Midway through the second half, Caney converted a pass from Keegan Carmichael for the winning goal.
Against David Thompson, LVR built a 4-0 lead at halftime to secure the win.
Caney, Carmichael, Callum Cutler, Johnny Michalchuk and Pikoi Krempl Tinglin scored for LVR.
Matteo Chirico was in goal for both games to register the wins.
