Word on the Lake Writers’ Festival coming soon

Early Bird Registration for the 16th Word on the Lake Writers’ Festival opens February 28, 2019, and the Askew’s Foods Word on the Lake Writing Contest closes at midnight that day.
Once again a wide variety of workshops will be offered at the festival, including both skill development workshops and open forums with presenters, based on questions and answers, in a relaxed and intimate setting on the shores of Shuswap Lake. Those who register early will have their pick of Blue Pencil sessions – an opportunity to discuss your writing with a pro. You’ll also be entered into the Early Bird Registration Prize Draw, valued at $475.
The judges of the writing contest are Gail Bowen, Fiction, Deanna Kawatski, Non-Fiction, and Nancy Bell, Poetry. The winners will be feted at the Saturday night banquet, May 11, 2019. Entry rules and guidelines can be found at this link.
And mark your calendars! March 30, 2019. The Sock Hop Fundraiser takes place at the 5th Avenue Seniors’ Activity Centre in downtown Salmon Arm, BC. Rockstar DJ Liz Blair will again be spinning discs in her own imitable style. Watch for ticket sales soon.
