Sunday’s windstorm caused numerous power outages on the North Shore and parts of Bedford Road near Blewett Nelson Hydro said.

The windstorm caused most of the damage on the North Shore, from Redfish north due to hazard trees falling across power lines.

Nelson Hydro crews as well as contractors worked through the night and into Monday restoring power to customers.

Highways crews and local Regional District of Central Kootenay Fire Departments also assisted during the night.

Most power was restored by Monday.
