The Nelson and District Arts Council could not be more proud to announce the first of two opening night galas for the 2018 ArtWalk.

ArtWalk is celebrating its 30-year anniversary supporting artists and the arts community at large.

This year’s first opening will happen at 19 different venues all over downtown Nelson and down Hall Street toward the waterfront. On Friday, June 29th from 6 – 9 p.m., the public can roam the streets and follow hula hoopers, dancers, musicians, and singers as you make your way from venue to venue – all while enjoying some of the best art this area has to offer.

Touchstones Museum of Art and History will be acting as an art showcase by hosting one piece from each artist showing.

The second opening is on Friday, July 27th. The Nelson and District Arts Council is partnering with the West Kootenay EcoSociety to host an art stage on Stanley Street during the July MarketFest.

Watch as art comes alive right before your eyes. Also, this night, the art will be changed in the venues creating a fresh new ArtWalk experience.
