Selkirk Paving crews were busy during the weekend paving the 100 Block of Hall Street at the intersection of Lakeside Drive as part of Hall Street Project Phase II.

The six-week closure allowed contractors to install two large storm sewers and one sanitary sewer under the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks.

Paving was necessary for the temporary opening of Hall Street Tuesday (June 26th) due to Canadian Pacific Rail needing toaddress an emergent track safety issue at the Cedar Street crossing. CP Rail has indicated to the City that this work is anticipated to take eight hours and that a total closure of the crossing is required for the work to proceed.

In order to provide access to Lakeside Drive businesses, the City will TEMPORARILY re-open access to Lakeside Drive from the 100 Block of Hall Street on Tuesday, June 26.

Starting Wednesday, June 27th, the City will re-open the Cedar Street detour route and will close access to Lakeside Drive via the 100 Block of Hall Street so the City’s contractor (MarWest) can proceed with work on the next phase of the Hall Street Project. The City apologizes for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.
