Chamber hosts Ready or Not for RETIREMENT

Are you nearing retirement? Maybe you have already retired and are not sure what you want to do next.
Wendy Lacroix, Retirement Coach and Financial Planner Roger Higgins are part of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn to help with next stage of career or work life. The event is set for Tuesday (May 22) from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce at the foot of Baker Street in Nelson.
Preparing for retirement has always scored high on the basic stress measurement indicators. Employees at this stage of their career or work life can be at risk for anxiety, low grade depression, weakened immune symptoms and a host of stress related diseases. This can result in a reduction of workplace focus, performance and productivity.
Are you an employer that has possibly has 
a few employees leaving in the next couple of years. An employee prepared for their own retirement is more likely to help their employers with succession planning, timing, and training.
This 45-minute interactive presentation will help you to start thinking about your retirement plan. As your retirement approaches, most people think about their financial goals, but not their personal and emotional ones.
What will be explored:
- the definiton of what Retirement means, and how it has changed.
- the impact “work” has had on your sense of self.
- What is your attitude towards retirement?
- Are you mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared? Are you resilient?
- How adaptable are you?
Cost is $25 per person, with a light lunch provided.
