Nelson Squash Club hosts Spring Classic Tournament
The Nelson Squash Club is hosting its annual Spring Classic Tournament beginning Friday at the club on Baker Street.
More than 60 players from throughout BC are expected to attend to compete, watch and socialize during the three-day tournament, which concludes Sunday.
The tournament is shaping up to be one of the best with the inclusion of four of BC’s top pros, including the club’s own pro Sarfaraz Ahmed, playing exhibition matches on Friday and Saturday night between 5-8 pm.
“It should be some of the finest squash ever seen in this town and I’m so excited to to be here to witness it but also to welcome others to the spectacle,” says president Blair Weston.
The Nelson Squash Club is known throughout BC as having one of the most audience friendly environments so afternoon and night-time matches are routinely packed. The club welcomes the public to witness this fast paced game or join in on the Saturday night live music with the Rob Funk band from 8:30 p.m. till midnight.
