Mallard's Team of the Week — Man In Motion Statue Team

The Nelson and District Community Complex recently received an upgrade to the facilities with the dedication of the Man In Motion Statue.
The donation of the statue, created by local artist Denis Kleine, was keyed by local resident Bill McDonnell.
McDonnell garnered the support of other local residents to purchase replica statues to offset the cost of Kleine’s larger creation at the NDCC facility.
Other’s involved in the project included Cal Renwick, Nelson Leafs Hockey Club, Osprey Foundation, Regional District of Central Kootenay Areas E and F, and Pat Glackin.
Mallard’s Source for sports would like to salute the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, especially Bill McDonnell, with Team of the Week honours.
Present for the unveiling were Joy Barrett of the Castlegar Sculpturewalk, Nelson City Councillors Valerie Warmington, Janice Morrison and Mayor Deb Kozak, Nelson Leafs President John Dooley, Ann McDonnell, Bill McDonnell, Cal Renwick and RDCK Area F Rep Tom Newell and RDCK Area E Rep Ramona Faust.
