The itinerary for the upcoming Royal Tour of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been released, with information on the stop in Kelowna.

“I’m pleased to announce the official itinerary for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their visits to British Columbia communities as part of their Royal Tour,” said BC Premier Christy Clark.

“This tour presents a unique opportunity the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to learn more about our province’s diverse urban, rural and remote wilderness regions.”

During the stop in Kelowna, the website said the Royals will visit Okanagan campus of the University of British Columbia, stopping to meet with students and the wider community before watching an exhibition match with the campus’ nationally ranked women’s volleyball team.

They will then take part in the BC Government’s ‘Taste of British Columbia’ festival at Mission Hill Winery. The Okanagan region is producing world-class wine, cheese, and food and The Duke and Duchess will have a chance to sample some of the province’s best offerings.

They will also meet with local young people who are learning about potential careers in food and agriculture.

“The Duke and Duchess will also be meeting British Columbians making positive changes such as conserving the Great Bear Rainforest, innovating approaches to addressing mental illness, and welcoming new Canadians,” Clark added.

“I know all British Columbians will extend a warm welcome to their Royal Highnesses as we share the very best of our province.”

Full details of the visit can be seen at this link.
