Movers and shakers behind Junior Dragons’ Den
Columbia Power is a sponsor of Junior Dragons’ Den, a Community Futures of Greater Trail initiative to support youth entrepreneurs. Modelled after CBC’s popular show – Dragons’ Den – secondary and post-secondary students pitch their business ideas to a panel of “dragons” with winners in each category taking home prizes.
Columbia Power staff is involved two ways this year – as judges (Dragons) and youth mentors, assisting local students as they prepare their business plans, videos and pitches for the event.
On Saturday May 7, the Championship Show will take place at the Charles Bailey Theatre in Trail with finalists from the West Kootenay/Boundary and East Kootenay competing for grand prizes.
Attendance is free and audience members have the opportunity to weigh in on the pitches via electronic voting with 20% off final votes going to the audience. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
