Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Ready, set . . . HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!!
Thursday, March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day so where your GREEN!
For those feeling the St. Patrick’s Day spirit, the day is a time to hoist a few cool ones while wearing as much green as possible.
Saint Patrick’s Day started at the dawn of the seventeenth century, and has gradually become a celebration of Irish Culture in general.
History books say the day is generally characterized by the attendance of church services, wearing of green attire and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol, which is often proscribed during the rest of the season.
In the Heritage City there will be plenty a tossing of a pint of Guinness at many of the local drinking establishments, including the folks at the Uptown Tavern in the Adventure Hotel.
Saint Patrick’s Day is a public holiday in the Ireland and Northern Ireland as well as Newfoundland and Labrador.
Today, St. Patrick’s Day is probably the most widely celebrated saint’s day in the world.
So wear your green and have a great St. Patrick’s Day.
