Man killed after being struck by CP train near Sicamous

A 62-year-old man died Saturday evening after being struck by a Canadian Pacific train in Malakwa near Sicamous.

Police say the man, a resident of Malakwa located near Sicamous, was in a vehicle that had was stuck on the tracks at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday.

The CP rail line runs through Malakwa.

Investigators say all three occupants vacated the car before a westbound CP train struck it, however, the man was struck and killed.

RCMP suspect the car was on the tracks before the barricades came down

The British Columbia Coroners Service is now investigating along with CP Rail and the police.
