Alberta hunting guide falls off cliff near Kitimat

On November 10, 2014 at 8:48 pm, the Kitimat RCMP was advised of SPOT (Satellite Personal beacon) activation up the Kemano River near Kitimat.

Information was received that a hunting guide had fallen off a cliff.

The Joint Rescue Command Center out of Comox, activated a rescue squadron to assisted with the rescue – recovery.

Tuesday (November 11) at 8:40 am, the guide was located but it was learned he had tragically succumbed to his injuries at scene. The deceased is a 26-year-old male resident of Alberta.

The Kitimat RCMP are continuing to work in partnership with the BC Coroner’s Office regarding this investigation.

The name of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
