RDCK asks public to secure refuse loads

The Regional District of Central Kootenay would like to remind the public of the importance of securing loads.
Unsecured loads are considered an offense under the Motor Vehicle Act and may be subject to doubled fee charges at RDCK waste disposal facilities.
It is common to see vehicles hauling material in our region.
However, drivers sometimes forget to secure their loads properly, allowing items to fall off along the way.
Material from an unsecured load that falls onto the road endangers other drivers and creates litter, which is unsightly and harmful to the environment.
Please tie down bulky waste items and securely tarp the remainder.
