Eager to purchase fresh produce, trinkets or just have some fun on a Friday night?

Then head down to the west end of Baker Street Friday for July MarketFest.

The gala event is back again on the 200 and 300 Blocks of Baker Street Friay (July 25) from 6-10:30 p.m.

This is a rain or shine event (but it appears Mother Nature is turning the skies back to sushine) will have music and fun filling the streets.

This MarketFest musical line-up is power packed with luminaries such as Adham Shaikh, Cam Penner, Ms. Erica Dee, Rhoneil and more.

EcoSociety’s Markets Director Jesse R. Woodward is once again working with vendors, business owners, and city agencies to ensure that July MarketFest is a great success.

“June MarketFest was a big hit even though there was a fair amount of rain” he said.

“I think about 1000 people came out to enjoy that event and we are hoping for double that for July MarketFest.”

MarketFest attendees will, as always, have a fantastic verity of  products  to choose from including include hand-made hats and clothes, locally made pottery and jewellery, and an array of body care products and, of course, lots of different and delicious ready-to-eat foods

MarketFest will once again have a food court area on Kootenay Street that makes it very easy for festival goers to find and choose from the wide selection of ready to eat foods that will be on hand.

The West Kootenay EcoSociety, a non-profit organization located in Nelson. operates MarketFest as a project to promote a relocalization of our economy and to create a meeting place for arts, culture and community networking.
