Two youths have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a local area liquor store last week in Kelowna.

On April 29, 2014 just before 11 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP responded to an alarm at the McCulloch Station Pub Liquor Store located at 2789 KLO Road.

Two males had apparently entered the liquor store wearing masks and armed with machete-type knives.

They allegedly demanded money from the register, took several bottles of liquor and smashed glass throughout the store.

The two fled the scene in a silver Audi convertible with an undisclosed amount of cash and liquor. The vehicle was later located with two male occupants and both were arrested without incident.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, both from Kelowna, were held in custody and brought before a Judicial Justice of the Peace Wednesday night.

They have since been released and are charged with Armed Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Utter Threats and Mischief.
