Revelstoke man dies from injuries, RCMP continue investigation

A 55-year-old Revelstoke man has died from injuries suffered Friday morning.

Emergency medical personnel were called to a report of an injured male.

The exact circumstances as to how the injuries to the man occurred are the subject of the ongoing investigation and police are seeking any witnesses to the event.

There have been no arrests and no one is currently in custody.

The man has been identified as Dean Pratico of Revelstoke.

The South East District Major Crimes Unit is present in Revelstoke conducting the investigation.

Police continue to seek information from the public and encourage anyone who witnessed the event to contact the Revelstoke RCMP Detachment at 250-837-5255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

RCMP investigate serious injuries to Revelstoke man

RCMP in Revelstoke have started an investigation into serious injuries suffered by a 55-year-old local man Friday (April 25) morning.

Emergency medical personnel received a call at approximately 11:15 a.m. to a report of a person with serious injuries at Ninth Street across from Queen Elizabeth Park.

Police were later made aware of an interaction between two men, aged 55 and 33, on the roadway in the School Zone at that location.

The 55-year-old man Revelstoke man suffered life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported to the Queen Victoria Hospital.

He was later transported by BC Air Ambulance to the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops where he remains in critical condition.

The exact circumstances surrounding how the injuries to the man occurred are the subject of the police investigation.
 
The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
