No injuries after slide closes road north of Salmon Arm

There no reports of injuries after a landslide north of Salmon Arm block the road.

The slide happened early Saturday evening on the south shore of Shuswap Lake, near Eagle Bay.

Eagle Bay has a population of about 400 people.

The slide, which took out power lines, was estimated at 150-feet long and 40-feet across.

BC Hydro restored power to residents shortly before midnight.

According to locals, slides are quite common in the Eagle Bay area.

However, this slide contained a lot more debris.
