Interior Health is pleased to announce that friends and families can now send a personal message to a patient at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital by e-mail through the E-wishes program.

“This service gives loved ones of patients at KBRH another option for contacting their friends or family members who are in care,” says Jane Cusden, Acute Health Services Director, KBRH. “It’s great because it’s free, quick and easy, and people can send a message to someone at the hospital in Trail no matter where they are in or even outside the region.”

The process for sending an E-wish is simple:

  • Go to www.interiorhealth.ca and type “e-wishes” into the search box.
  • Select the Send Well Wishes page and click on the Send an E-wish link.
  • Select Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital as the facility and enter the patient’s full name and your own contact info.
  • Write your short message to the patient and click the Submit button.

A member of the Trail Hospital Auxiliary will print the message, seal it in an envelope and deliver it to the patient within two days. All messages will be treated as confidential.

Loved ones of patients at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson can also send a message to a patient through the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation’s Ehug program.  To send an Ehug to someone at KLH, go to the Foundation’s home page (www.klhf.org) and click on the Ehug teddy bear link.
