RCMP roadcheck near Osoyoos nets drugs
A highway “Counter-Attack” roadcheck by RCMP Monday (December 9) netted a large amount of drugs.
The roadcheck, conducted by South Okanagan Traffic Services & South Okanagan RCMP members, was held on Highway 3 in Osoyoos.
During the check stop, an eastbound vehicle approached the roadcheck and a criminal investigation enused.
As a result of the check and the use of Police Service Dog “Jet”, a narcotic trained police dog attached to Traffic Services, members located nine lbs of marihuana, 750 grams of cocaine, several containers of various illicit steroids and 197 tablets of suspected oxycodone.
Two males, aged 26 and 28 years old from the Lower Mainland, remain in police custody at this time pending further investigation.
