Name of semi truck driver killed near Revelstoke released

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a motor vehicle incident east of Revelstoke Sunday (December 1 as Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, aged 30, of Surrey.
Sidhu was the driver and sole occupant of a commercial transport truck, which was travelling westbound on Highway 1, when it was involved in a head-on collision with an eastbound commercial transport truck about 34 kilometres east of Revelstoke shortly after noon Sunday.
Sidhu was deceased at the scene. Road conditions were noted to be poor, with ice and snow on the roadway at the time.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
