Police in Kelowna found a significant stash of cash and street drugs during a road check Wednesday in the Central Okanagan City.

The road check occurred at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Richter Street as RCMP stopped a black Nissan Altima driven by a Richmond man.

A Richmond man now faces drug charges after the search found 42 grams of crack cocaine, 15 grams of heroin, 1.7 grams of methamphetamine, 4.6 grams of powder cocaine, and a significant quantity of cash.

A 32-year-old Vancouver man and a 30-year-old Surrey man were later released without charges.

The Richmond man faces a possible charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He was released on a promise to appear for court at a later date.
