RDCK rescinds water quality advisory for Woodland Heights

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is rescinding the water quality advisory for the Woodland Heights water system in Taghum, located approximately 10 kilometers west of Nelson.

The initial warning was issued on October 4 by RDCK due to a sample indicating the presence of total coliforms.

The RDCK suspects the problem resulted from recent upgrades at the well head.

Staff have flushed the system, drained the reservoir, and added temporary residual disinfection. Sampling has since been done weekly and there have been no adverse results.

Sample results show that the current water quality is good and within the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines.

The RDCK would like to thank residents for their cooperation and patience while this Water Quality Advisory was in place. If you have any questions, please contact the RDCK at 250-352-6665 or check out our website at www.rdck.bc.ca.
