Court sides with Invermere over deer culling
The culling of deer in Invermere will proceed following a ruling by a B.C. Supreme Court judge against some animal rights activists trying to put a stop to the process.
Officials say the aggressive deer have become a threat to public safety.
However, Invermere Deer Protection Society has said city council did not consult the community before culling 19 deer two years ago.
The issue will go before a referendum November 2 asking residents if more permits should be obtained before any more culling.
