Bus driver assaulted in Surrey

Charges are pending against a 16-year-old Surrey resident following an assault on a Coast Mountain Bus driver Sunday morning.

At approximately 1 a.m., Surrey R.C.M.P. received a call from a passenger on a a Coast Mountain Bus, advising that a passenger had assaulted the male  Bus Driver. 

Surrey R.C.M.P. General Duty members attended to the area of Fraser Highway and 148th Street where the Transit Bus was stopped. 

The suspect male had left from the bus prior to police attendance. 

A description of the suspect was obtained, and a direction of travel as well. A Police Service Dog also attended, and was able to track the suspect male.
 
The suspect male youth was arrested, and taken into custody. 

The Bus Driver had been punched once by suspect male, and was treated by E.H.S. at the scene for minor injuries.
 
The suspect youth was released to a parent.
