Police ask for public assistance in finding a WW I helmet taken from display in Salmo

Salmo RCMP is on the lookout for a thief that took a World War I helmet from a tmemorial display at the Salmo Legion.
The incident was reported to police September 13.
The WWI helmet was part of a memorial display at the Legion in Salmo.
The resident had seen the helmet on the display the day before. The metal helmet, which had been welded to the display, had been pried off.
