Mother Nature is making life difficult for firefighters after lightning triggered 65 new fires in B.C. in the last 24 hours.

Most of the fires strikes happened in the Kamloops district.

The most severe case is a small fire burning west of Lillooet that has caused an evacuation alert.

Despite the fire not growing since Saturday, officials remain concernedd high winds in the forecast could quickly inflate the blaze.

Fire officials expect more fires could start in the southern interior as lightning storms are in the forecast.
