Kootenay Pride 2013 comes to Nelson
It’s Kootenay Pride 2013 week in Nelson.
For more than a decade Kootenay Pride has been bringing visibility to sexual minorities within our communities.
“Kootenay Pride is one of the most integrated and diverse grassroots Pride organizations anywhere,” the message on the Kootenay Pride Facebook page said.
“We’re proud of that. We’re proud to call the Kootenays home, and we’re proud to provide the community a range of activities and events designed to foster awareness, acceptance and reach out to the whole community. We believe we are building a stronger culture in the Kootenays.”
Events are planned through the weekend culminating with the parade down Baker Street Sunday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. from Cottonwood Falls Park.
The parade concludes at the Kootenay Commons Parking Lot with the Little Rally That Could.
Last year hundreds of fans lined Baker Street to watch the parade.
