Whitehorse man dies trying to save kids near Kelowna
The B.C. Coroner’s office has confirmed the name of a Whitehorse man who drowned during the weekend near Kelowna while attempting to save his two children.
George Matthew Klein, 42, died Saturday at the Kokanee Beach Resort near Kelowna.
The Whitehorse man was trying save his two children and one other child caught in the undertow near the resort located on Wood Lake.
The body of Klein, who did not resurface, was found later approximately 20 metres from shore.
The three boys are all safe.
