Former RCMP staff sergeant Stuart Seib will not face jail time after pleading guilty to stealing cocaine from the ldrug exhibit lockup in Merritt.

The 54-year-old B.C. Mountie was been handed a conditional sentence — one year of probation and ordered to perform 50 hours of community-service.

The court heard Seib first began using stolen cocaine when he was a sergeant at the Clearwater detachment due to post-traumatic stress disorder.
