Crowds fill downtown Nelson for opening MarketFest
If MarketFest continues to grow in popularity as seen during the opening event of the season, then organizers may need to book a few more downtown city blocks.
The 200 and 300 blocks of Baker Street, as well as part of Kootenay Street, was filled to capacity at the inaugural West Kootenay EcoSociety MarketFest.
Sunny skies greeted crowds as foot traffic not only filled MarketFest but also lined downtown streets.
“We’re delighted with the response from all who were involved in making the June MarketFest a wonderfully successful event including the vendors, the city, and businesses along Baker Street,” said EcoSociety’s Markets Director Jesse R. Woodward prior to the event.
“June MarketFest is sold out with 100 vendors displaying their amazing verity of offerings.”
Music was provided by Ty West, Gabriel Palatchi Trio, Morien Jones, The Real Ponchos and Sunshine Drive.
Next MarketFest is slated for July.
